Notes from Mike's Desk

Hello, friends! Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter highlighting what's happening on Capitol Hill and in Louisiana's 4th Congressional District. I'm always grateful when you recommend this resource to others.

SATELLITE OFFICE HOURS

District staff will continue hosting satellite office hours throughout Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District to assist constituents navigating federal agencies and programs, such as Social Security, Medicare, military and veterans’ issues. Staff are also available to help constituents obtain the status of pending cases and check the status of passport applications. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our office for more information. HIGHLIGHTS

During my CBS Face the Nation interview, I was asked multiple questions about the federal response of recent hurricane devastation and threats to election security. However, CBS selectively edited out nearly 15 minutes of my answers. Obviously, CBS is trying to undermine Republicans by deleting my first-hand account of the victims of Hurricane Helene and the Biden-Harris Administration's failure to provide necessary resources. They also don't want viewers to hear about the Biden-Harris Administration suing Virginia as Governor Youngkin cleans the state's voter rolls of non-American citizens. Click here for CBS's botched version of my interview, and click here to see my FULL answers.

I had the honor of recently recognizing Jodi Burns as a 2024 Angels in Adoption Honoree for her work as the director of Heart of Hope, an organization and sanctuary in northwest Louisiana for young women experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Over the last 14 years of humble, faithful dedication at Heart of Hope, Jodi has transformed the lives of countless young women by offering prayer, community, support services and prenatal care. By the power of faith, Jodi truly fosters a culture of life in North Louisiana, and it is my pleasure to recognize her work.

I was happy to be back in Louisiana with Kelly to cast our votes for the upcoming election. This election cycle is one of the most, if not the most, important elections in our nation's history, and it is crucial for everyone to make it to the polls. Kelly and I are confident that the American people will elect a unified, Republican-led government to secure our border and restore American values. We are looking forward to November 5th!

Justice has once again been served by the brave men and women of the Israeli military. Yahya Sinwar, the vile, disgusting leader of Hamas who orchestrated the October 7th massacre, is dead. Sinwar’s life was the embodiment of evil and marked by hatred for all that is good in the world. His death brings hope for all those who seek to live in freedom, and relief to Israelis he has sought to oppress. Click here for my full statement.

IN THE MEDIA

I sat for a number of television interviews to discuss election integrity, the federal response Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and CBS's interview gimmicks. See below for a collection of those conversations. Click the images to watch, and check our YouTube channel for more.

LAGNIAPPE

I had the honor of flipping the coin before the LSU-Ole Miss football game. Kelly and I also had the opportunity to meet with Governor Jeff Landry and First Lady Sharon Landry. The Tigers took home an incredible win, and I am looking forward to a great rest of the season. Geaux Tigers!
