We’re barely over a week away from Election Day, and there’s a lot at stake. I’d like to take a moment to explain why – as a high-risk OB/GYN – I’m supporting Kristin Lyerly, as is my (former Packers coach!) dad Mike Holmgren, and why I’m asking you to join us in these critical final days.

As an OB/GYN who focuses specifically on high-risk pregnancies, I’ve seen my fair share of hard cases.

I’ve been in the room with patients facing agonizing choices, and been the one to deliver news no parent wants to hear.

Kristin Lyerly has been in the same position, as a fellow OB/GYN. Both of us understand one essential thing: None of these decisions should be made by politicians. They should be made by the people whose lives they change, and the experts in charge of their care.

So today, I’m proud to stand with Kristin and support her campaign for Congress – because we need representatives who understand the stakes instead of relying on political grandstanding.

The reality is that the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade has cost patients their lives. And it will cost more lives until we enact federal legislation that ensures that reproductive health care is legal and accessible for all.
