Today we have made the connection between the insurance industry and extreme weather events clear and brought this message vividly to the City of London.

We’re telling insurers to stop insuring new fossil fuel projects - to choose people over profit.

A pink boat sailed through the City of London, rebels occupied world-famous buildings and we staged a 'climate crime scene' on their doorstep.

Every day this week we will tell a story about the terrible impact that insurers are having on the lives of ordinary people here and across the world. They are insuring fossil fuel projects that are heating up the planet.

John, we know this works, pressure on the industry is growing. Earlier in the year, Zurich announced it will stop insuring new fossil fuel projects and just a few days ago, Generali announced a policy change that means their coverage of oil and gas should grind to a halt.
