Bears Ears is not the kind of place for chaining thousands of acres of forest or stringing up utility lines. These are wild, sweeping monument lands.

The Trump administration’s plan for the remaining part of Bears Ears National Monument puts destructive activities before the public’s interest.

We have until August 26 to speak up for Bears Ears!

Dear Friend,

In December 2017, in what was the largest reduction in public lands in United States history, the Trump administration stripped protections from millions of acres of land in Bears Ears National Monument. Now the Bureau of Land Management has released its management plan, which will destroy cultural sites and critical habitat in what remains of Bears Ears.

The public now has an opportunity to protest the plan. We have until August 26 to speak up for Bears Ears, so take action today!

The Trump administration’s plan for the remaining part of Bears Ears National Monument puts destructive activities before the public’s interest. This includes opening up sensitive areas to off-road vehicles and clearing potentially thousands of acres of forest with a waist-thick anchor chain dragged between tractors. This is devastating to landscapes and archeological sites, and has no place in the wild, sweeping lands of the national monument.

The plan will be obsolete if environmental groups like Earthjustice and Native American Tribes win the legal battle over Present Trump’s proclamation that gutted Bears Ears in 2017. But right now we need your help to protest this plan.

We must stop this bad idea. We need you to weigh in and protest against the Trump administration’s new plan for this iconic monument. We can’t allow the destruction of these public lands and our natural heritage.

Sincerely,

Heidi McIntosh
