Dear John,
Today, speakers at a Trump rally engaged in some of the most vile rhetoric I've ever heard. They called Puerto Rico a floating pile of garbage, made lewd comments about the Latino community, and spewed vile stereotypes about African-Americans. At least one of the speakers previously demeaned Asian-Americans as well.
What’s at stake in this election is not simply differences on policy. Rather, it is a referendum on who we are as a nation. I strongly believe that we are better than the racism Donald Trump enables, as he did today. I strongly believe we need a vision for our state and country that is a welcoming place for ALL Pennsylvanians and Americans. We need to win on November 5th. The stakes are simply too high, and Pennsylvania is ground zero. If we stand up and make our voices heard, we can stop the flow of this deeply hateful and unpatriotic language of MAGA Republicans. |
