John,
Right now, Donald Trump and his campaign’s handpicked line-up of speakers are spewing hatred and bigotry at Madison Square Garden.
It’s horrifying—and it’s a reminder that with just nine days to go, we all must do everything in our power to keep this vengeful man from ever setting foot in the White House again.
As we wrap up our second-to-last GOTV weekend, I want to touch base with four important points we already know to be true about the state of the race.
-
Abortion access is one of the strongest closing arguments for Democrats. A recent Blueprint poll shows that reminding voters about Trump’s role in overturning Roe v. Wade results in a +10-preference effect for Harris (+12 among Independents!).
-
Young women, in particular, are prioritizing abortion rights at the ballot box: a recent KFF survey shows that abortion rights have now surpassed inflation as the top issue for women under 30.
-
We must prioritize educating voters about the far-reaching consequences of abortion bans. This weekend, former First Lady Michelle Obama gave a masterclass in laying out the stakes of this election, detailing the devastating consequences that abortion bans have had on our entire system of reproductive healthcare.
- Across the country, voters are showing up in droves. Key states like Georgia and North Carolina have seen record-breaking early voting turnout.
Trump and his cronies are at MSG using the same, tired playbook of racist rhetoric and dangerous misinformation.
But on the ground, we’re seeing all of the possibilities of a different path forward.
Abortion rights were always going to be a defining factor in this election, and that is more apparent now than ever.
We must continue to educate voters about the stakes of this race and outline every reason to turnout for races up and down the ballot—because when we invest in the pro-choice electorate, we win.
Thanks for all your support,
