"Will it all come down to Michigan?"
That was the headline of an article sent out to The New York Times email subscribers last week.
The answer is yes.
Whoever wins Michigan is almost certain to win the White House.
If Elissa Slotkin loses her race here, not only will Kamala Harris likely lose, but Democrats will lose control of the Senate.
And the "operatives" in this article who say both Democrats and Republicans have a path to victory...
They are right as well.
But Democrats do have a not-so-secret weapon in Michigan — a state that has attracted more outside spending than almost any other race — and that is Elissa Slotkin.
In race after race, Elissa has done better in the "redder" parts of her district than other Democrats. That is because we do a better job of using our resources to turn out infrequently voting Democrats.
Now Elissa runs statewide, not just in one Congressional District.
And if we have the resources to replicate those successes in every part of Michigan, then we're going to win.
