Annie here. I just read a disturbing article in the Huffington Post about what a Trump Administration would do to Medicaid funding — cut it for 73 million Americans, including 50% of America’s CHILDREN.
Medicaid (often confused with Medicare) offers insurance for low-income Americans. It doesn’t just help provide financial security for people in need of basic care, it provides access to medicine and care that is PREVENTIVE. For children, access to the right care at the right time means they can live healthier, fuller, and more productive lives.
So why isn't it more of a political talking point? Medicaid is often framed as a “welfare” program and, well, children can’t vote (yet). Those on Medicare and Social Security can — and they happen to be one of the largest most powerful voting blocks in the nation.
Medicaid IS a children’s health insurance program.
This is EXACTLY why I started Their Future PAC — this is a program that undoubtedly benefits children but… they don’t have a voice in Washington to protect it for them. We HAVE to do it for them and we need leaders who are going to listen to reason to get it done.
We only get so many changes to protect our children’s future — this is a REALLY important one. So, please, donate $5 or any amount right now to help our team elect Kids First Candidates on Nov. 5.
Until the kids are alright,
Annie
