(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to return to full-staff at sunset on the evening of Monday, October 28, 2024.
Flags have been at half-staff statewide for the last several days in remembrance of Firefighter Robert Sharkevich Sr., a member of the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department and formerly the Hartford Fire Department, who died in the line of duty while responding to a brush fire at Lamentation Mountain in Berlin. A funeral service in his honor is scheduled to be held on Monday morning at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford.
