New Yorker: The Case for Dumping the Electoral College [[link removed]]
The Electoral College has been described as “ a loaded pistol pointed at our system of government. ” They warned that it created “a game of Russian roulette” because the way it distorts the will of the people could threaten our democracy.
We've already seen the popular vote loser win the White House five times, including twice in the last twenty years .
And this obtuse system of choosing a national leader led directly to the former President -- one of those five who lost the popular vote (in 2016) but still won the office -- attempting to subvert the will of the people by twisting the Electoral College into a mess and when that didn't work, fomented a literal insurrection with supporters breaking into the Capitol Building to disrupt certification of the election. And now he's running again.
Opponents of voting rights have shown they'll bend these rules and go to any length in order to win. RUSH $35 or more to help us end the Electoral College once and for all >> [[link removed]]

We don’t have to wait for Congress to act, either. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) is an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their electoral votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the overall popular vote in the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Minnesota joined last year, giving NPVIC 16 states plus DC, accounting for 206 electoral votes and 76% of the states needed to essentially make the popular vote the law of the land.
We're so close to ending this once and for all! Put us over the top by supporting our efforts to end the Electoral College forever with $35 or more today >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
Your support is crucial to our efforts. Will you donate today to help us protect voting rights? [[link removed]]
