Pension funds and other large institutional investors are funneling billions of dollars into new oil and gas projects. Climate Safe Pensions Illinois (an umbrella group whose members include 350 Chicago, The Climate Reality Project Chicago Metro chapter, and Third Act Illinois) is engaged in a campaign seeking the divestment of fossil fuel holdings from Illinois’ public pension funds.  

Investment in the fossil fuel sector is risky, posing a threat not only to our climate but also to the financial stability and growth of our public pensions. We are seeking your help with reaching out to union and pension members to gain their support for this important effort.
