John --
I am writing to you today to ask if you can split a donation to help Democrat Christy Smith get out the vote before tomorrow's special election for a battleground congressional seat in California.
Here's the link you can use to donate: [link removed]
Before I get into the details about that, I want to say thank you to all of you for helping me share critical information on COVID-19, backing our frontline and essential workers, and supporting legislation that gives working families a hand during this crisis.
It's your commitment to the wellbeing of your fellow Americans that makes me optimistic that we'll come out the other side of this unprecedented moment in our history stronger than ever.
With the pandemic and economic crisis we are experiencing, it's never been more important to have strong Democratic voices in Congress who are prepared to take on the special interests and fight for working families.
Christy Smith has spent her career fighting for her community on the local PTA, school board, and in the California State Assembly. She's the kind of leader we need in Congress fighting alongside me and other Democrats.
Tomorrow's election could go either way -- analysts at the Cook Political Report, Politico, and Center for Politics say it's a "toss-up." John, when you split a donation, it really could make the difference between us winning this seat or losing it to Donald Trump.
I know that times are tough right now, so I more than understand if you cannot afford to add a contribution. But if you're financially able, please consider making an urgent donation to our campaign and Christy Smith for Congress to win this seat and help protect our Democratic majority.

I can't wait to have Christy working alongside me to expand access to affordable health care, lower the cost of prescription drugs, protect our environment, and fight for working families.
Thank you,
Suzan DelBene
