Apologies for the Sunday outreach. When I said we were going to work day and night to reach out to voters — and close the budget gap we’re facing — I meant every word.

The truth is, yes, this is a fundraising email. To personally reach out to thousands of undecided voters and win this race, our campaign needs to raise every single dollar we possibly can right now.

But I suspect you don’t need to read another email detailing all the reasons campaign donations are so helpful right now. To be succinct about it, the race is extremely close, and more donations give us a better shot at winning.

Instead, I want to talk with you a bit about what this is all for, and why I’m so determined to win this fight — because it’s not about winning just for winning’s sake. It’s about what we can accomplish together if we’re successful next Tuesday.

This election will determine whether families have access to quality, affordable healthcare. Far-right Republicans are pushing to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, which would strip protections from millions of people with pre-existing conditions.

But I believe we need to expand access to health care, not take it away. That’s why, here in Oregon, I introduced and passed legislation to hold Big Pharma accountable and lower prescription drug prices.

This election will determine the kind of economic future families in this country can look forward to. The MAGA agenda calls for more and more giveaways to corporations and special interests — but I think it’s long past time that we put working families first.

This election will also determine the future of abortion rights. Right now, 1 in 3 women live in states without access to abortion, and my opponent has supported an all-out abortion ban.

I have always stood, and will always stand, for abortion rights, period. I won’t stop fighting until we restore the right to choose in all 50 states.

And then there’s the stakes of this election when it comes to our democracy.

My opponent has said he supports Donald Trump’s decision making — even after he attempted to overturn the 2020 election results.

I will support the outcome of our nation’s free and fair elections — win or lose, because it’s the right thing to do.

You don’t need me to tell you there’s a lot on the line in this race. But this is a good time to tell you that it’s not too late for you to play a big role in determining the outcome. If you support my vision for the future and would like to help make it a reality, I am humbly asking you to pitch in $5 today to get us over the finish line.
