To all our hard working volunteers campaigning and placing signs at polling locations....
It has come to our attention that different townships have different rules (ordinances) about placing campaign signs on township property.
Arcadia Township allows only one campaign sign per candidate on township property.
Mayfield Township does not allow signs to be stuck in the ground. They have to be placed on something like a hay bale.
Some townships have no sign rules.
Just to remind everyone, Michigan campaign law states there will be no campaigning (which also means no signs) within 100 feet of any building entrance used by voters to enter a polling place.
Let’s be respectful and courteous and check with the township clerk if you are not sure about the sign/campaign rules
