[ [link removed] ]NY TIMES: Republicans Assumed a Nebraska Senate Seat Was Safe. Then
This Candidate Came Along.
A big feature in The New York Times by Michelle Goldberg is blaring
"Republicans assumed a Nebraska Senate seat was safe. Then this candidate
came along."
That candidate is Dan Osborn, the economic populist running as an
Independent who has unleashed an earthquake in political circles.
In September, Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball, two top
political analysts, upgraded the race from Strong Republican to Likely
Republican. They just upgraded it again to Leans Republican.
SIX recent polls show this Independent labor leader TIED with MAGA
incumbent senator Deb Fischer in this race that could determine the
balance of power in the U.S. Senate.

SURGING Independent Senate candidate. Donate here to fuel an UPSET that
changes history.
Until about a year ago, Dan Osborn was a factory worker. A mechanic and a
steamfitter by trade, he led a 77-day strike at the Omaha Kellogg's plant,
saving 500 good-paying jobs. Afterwards, he was fired for leading the
strike.
Osborn told Goldberg that we’re at the apex of a corporate-run government,
and "people’s frustrations inevitably reach a boiling point. So they start
electing a different government, a more populist message, because they
know that their lives are getting harder and their government is not
working for them."
There is no Democrat running for this Senate seat, but this is important
from The New York Times:
"Osborn wants to raise both corporate taxes and the minimum wage. Like
Biden, he champions the PRO Act, which would make it easier to organize a
union. On the stump, he attacks price gouging, an issue Kamala Harris has
highlighted.
"He’s personally opposed to abortion, but he believes it should be legal.
He’s protective of Second Amendment rights but backs the sort of
regulation often supported by urban police forces."
How real is this? Donald Trump just taped a rushed ad for the weak MAGA
incumbent and Mitch McConnell just pumped $3 million into a NEBRASKA
Senate race!
Can you help make history that could determine the balance of power in the
U.S. Senate?

Thanks for being a bold progressive.

P.S. Here’s one more thing Dan Osborn told The Times:
"Imagine the ramifications on American politics if Nebraska elects an
independent mechanic to the halls of power. It’s going to tell people all
around the country that you don’t have to be a self-funding crypto
billionaire to run for office. So nurses, teachers, plumbers, carpenters,
mechanics, they can all now know that they can do the same thing."
