The wellbeing of our planet has been in consistent decline, and we only have 10 years to take critical action to solve our climate crisis. Right now, as the state legislature is tackling a pandemic and current public health crisis – our representatives also have the ability to push forward legislation to protect our future. We need your help to move Assembly Bill 3030 forward. This legislation, introduced by Assemblymember Ash Kalra, will make a commitment to conserve 30% of our planet’s land and oceans by 2030. This is major! Why does this matter? Well, did you know that biodiversity is linked with economic, social and environmental well-being, and loss of biodiversity has been connected to habitat loss, pollution, overexploitation, invasive species, and climate change? While Germany and the UK have already committed to a 30% conservation goal, the U.S is lagging behind. This is where you come in. We need your help to protect our planet’s biodiversity and future well-being. It is critical for states to lead in this fight, and California, at no surprise, already has legislation before the state legislator. <<< Can you sign our petition to urge the Assembly Natural Resources Committee to vote YES on conserving California’s natural spaces to protect biodiversity and for future generations?>>> AB 3030 is not only realistic, but necessary:
Preserving biodiversity is crucial for public health, which is undeniably interconnected with the health of the environment. Implementing AB 3030 is crucial to protect biodiversity, halt extinction rates, and mitigate the economic and social costs of climate change In solidarity,
