John,
Before I was hired at UC Irvine, I taught at University of Iowa. My sons Luke and Paul were born in Iowa, making them the seventh generation of Iowans in my family.
I still care deeply about that community in Iowa—in fact, in 2020 I went and checked on the fence I built myself around my little house. (It was standing, by the way.) It feels like home in a way, which is why I’m so excited to tell you about my friend Christina Bohannan.
Christina’s running for Congress in the same district I lived in and built that fence in, and she’s looking to build a bit more: In Congress, Christina will fight every day for Iowa families, kids, and small businesses because she believes if you work hard, you deserve a fair shot to get ahead.
Christina is exactly the kind of leader we need right now: Will you chip in $5 or more right now to support Christina Bohannan and Truth to Power?
Christina is a mom, law professor, and former engineer. She’s running for Congress because she believes we need a government that works for the people, not Washington special interests.
Too many Iowa families are struggling, worrying they’re just one bad break from not making ends meet. In Congress, Christina will take on greedy corporations responsible for price gouging and rising prices. She’ll work for more technical and vocational training for high-skill, high-wage jobs, greater investment in our kids and schools, building up our clean energy economy, strong protections for voting rights, and making it easier for families to get the health care they need.
Those are the values I’m fighting for every day—and I know Christina will do Hawkeyes proud in Congress.
Let’s build a better Congress, from California to Iowa: Donate $5 or more today to support Christina’s campaign for Congress and Truth to Power.
Thanks,
Katie
