Team —
Last week, the Trump administration doubled down on their plans to call on the Supreme Court to strike down the Affordable Care Act. If they succeed, millions of Americans will lose access to health care during a pandemic.
Even some of Trump’s closest advisors have said that a full repeal should not move forward during the coronavirus outbreak. Bottom line: There’s no excuse for yanking health care away from millions of Americans during a public health crisis. This is more than misguided — it’s dangerous.
The need for broad access to quality, affordable health care has never been clearer. We’re facing unprecedented challenges to our health care system right now, and the administration should be strengthening our health care system instead of attempting to take away health care access and undermining protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
No matter what Trump says about keeping popular parts of the Affordable Care Act intact (like coverage for those with pre-existing conditions), two facts remain:
-
The Trump administration is trying to repeal all ACA provisions, including protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions
-
And, more importantly, they've failed to put a replacement plan forward.
More than ever, we need leaders like Mark Warner in Washington: people who are committed to fighting for our health care every day and are willing to hold the Trump administration accountable. It’s critical that we keep Mark in the Senate.
If you have the means, will you consider supporting Mark’s re-election campaign? Every dollar gets us closer to sending him back to the Senate to fight for us.
Thank you for your support.
