Hi team, this is Gov. Hochul. My friend, John Avlon, asked to reach out to my top supporters with an urgent appeal for support. Read the message from his team below, and pitch in if you can!

Friends,

A new independent poll from Newsday/Siena has John neck and neck with LaLota - and climbing!

NY-1 Update: John Avlon is neck and neck with Nick LaLota - Avlon: 44%, LaLota: 47%

A three point lead for an incumbent well below 50% is bad news for Nick LaLota.

Here’s the thing. There are still a LOT of undecideds in our race. But let us explain why we’ve got all the momentum:

  1. When an incumbent is only getting 47% of the vote and has had years and millions of dollars to get to 47%... that’s bad news. That means 53% of the district doesn’t want anything to do with LaLota anymore. Now our job is to make sure they know John’s the best choice to be an independent voice for Suffolk County families.
  2. Did you know that at least 71% of our district is pro-choice? And over 90% believe abortion should be legal in at least some cases? That’s overwhelming opposition to Nick LaLota’s 12 week abortion ban.
  3. We’ve got one of the largest field programs in the country. We’re talking to THOUSANDS of voters every day, spreading the word about John’s common sense solutions — and it’s working. That in person outreach beyond the base is how you win swing districts.
  4. BTW, we can think of one vote LaLota isn’t getting… his own. Yeah. Remember he broke his promise to move to the district and can’t even vote for himself.

This poll shows what we’ve always believed: This is going to be within the margin of error. It’s going to be really close. But we’ve got the momentum.

It’s all hands on deck to finish strong. Are you with us? Please split a contribution between John’s campaign and Governor Kathy Hochul.
