FIRST: Anti-abortion physicians tried to challenge the FDA's approval of mifepristone, a safe and effective abortion medication. The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that they did not have standing and sent the case back down to the federal district court.

THEN: In an amended complaint filed by the states of Missouri, Idaho, and Kansas, the states tried to argue that their states would face harm if they are unable to force unplanned and dangerous pregnancies to be carried to term because the resulting losses in their states’ populations could result in the loss of a congressional seat in reapportionment.

We wish we were making this up:

A loss of potential population causes further injuries as well: the States subsequent “diminishment of political representation” and “loss of federal funds,” such as potentially “losing a seat in Congress or qualifying for less federal funding if their populations are” reduced or their increase diminished.
- Intervenor Plaintiffs' Amended Complaint, Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration

NOW: It’s clear power-hungry politicians will try every single way to hold onto power, even if their anti-abortion, anti-democracy actions could cost people their lives.

We’re monitoring attacks on reproductive rights, voting rights, and fair representation — because we know that those assaults are part of a coordinated effort to rip away our fundamental freedoms.

We must hold the extremists accountable — and for that we need you. Rush your donation to All On The Line now >> [link removed]
