Mitch McConnell is still scheming to pack the federal courts during a national crisis.

We know that so many folks are going through a challenging time right now. If you’d like to hit pause on these emails while this crisis is at its worst, just let us know here.

Team,

It’s no secret Mitch McConnell’s big priority in Washington is packing the federal courts with partisan judges. Now, there’s a potential investigation brewing into whether he pressured a federal judge to retire so that one of Mitch’s protégés could take the spot.

The New York Times reported that, as the COVID-19 crisis was intensifying, McConnell was actually calling up federal judges appointed by previous Republican presidents and encouraging them to retire so he could handpick their replacements.

He even recently went on the radio and bragged, “My motto for the year is leave no vacancy behind. That hasn’t changed. The pandemic will not prevent us from achieving that goal.”

Even during a global pandemic, Mitch is putting himself and his party first—and this won’t stop until we take his power away. If you’re able to, chip in now and let’s elect a new senator for Kentucky.

We all know that overhauling the federal judiciary with lifetime appointments for conservatives has been Mitch’s top focus for as long as anyone can remember. He’s rammed through nominees who legal scholars and experts considered just plain unqualified, all while bending the rules and thwarting precedent.

It’s wrong, no matter when he does it. But to skirt ethics and waste valuable time to put pressure on older judges—especially while so many families are depending on urgent government help during this crisis—is particularly despicable.

The sad thing is, it’s what we’ve come to expect from Mitch McConnell. If you can, make a donation and help make this his final year in the Senate.

Thank you,
McGrath HQ
