John — Four years ago today, Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in with a lifetime appointment. In a hyper-partisan, last-minute confirmation hearing as millions of votes in the 2020 election were being cast, Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell denied the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish. In shockingly hypocritical fashion, and after Mitch McConnell denied so much as a confirmation hearing to Merrick Garland for nearly a full year after Antonin Scalia’s passing, McConnell and Senate Republicans jammed Barrett onto the bench within 6 weeks of Biden’s election. After Trump and Mitch McConnell jammed through three Supreme Court justices, trust in the court has plummeted, and its ethically-conflicted justices have done unbelievable harm to our rights and freedoms.
This anniversary is a sobering reminder of what could happen if Donald Trump secures a second term in the White House and if Republicans flip control of the U.S. Senate. More far-right judges — not just in the Supreme Court but at all levels. More conservative rulings, sending our country back in time. More chances at giving MAGA Republicans a free pass to implement their Project 2025 agenda and alter our democracy as we know it. John, we have to stop this. The Supreme Court is fundamentally broken, and our hopes of making any progress on abortion rights, voting rights, gun safety, the environment, and more could be shattered beyond repair if we let the far-right movement have its way with the bench. Chip in to make sure I can fight for a fair, just Supreme Court from the U.S. Senate.

If we want to unstack the courts, institute term limits, and pass an enforceable code of ethics for justices, we need a Democratic Senate. Thanks, Adam
