Working families deserve not just a seat at the table, they need their voices to be heard about the decisions impacting their lives and their communities. Down Home North Carolina understands just how critical it is for working families to be making these decisions, especially in rural, exurban, and underserved areas.

In North Carolina, 80 out of 100 counties are classified as “rural,” and another twelve are “semi-rural.” Furthermore, North Carolina’s working class has been intentionally divided by race to decrease their collective power. To win people-powered victories across North Carolina, rural and low-income communities must be prioritized. 

North Carolina’s early voting began over a week ago, and now we must dedicate the next two weeks to getting our pro-immigrant message in front of as many voters as we can reach.

To complement the incredible, on-the-ground work Down Home North Carolina is doing, NILC Immigrant Justice Fund is running ads in North Carolina to help motivate voters. We need a surge of resources to keep our momentum through Election Day.
