Dear John,
We’ve just learned that a right-wing group with ties to Elon Musk is running a wave of fake ads from a phony pro–Kamala Harris Facebook page called “Progress 2028.”
The ads, which appear to be targeted at conservative voters, claim Harris will ban fracking, institute mass gun confiscation, and provide housing for undocumented immigrants in order to scare people into voting for Trump.
Progress 2028 put $150,000 behind these ads in less than a week, but so far Facebook isn’t doing anything to stop them.
This is what we’re up against — but we’re fighting back with some of the most effective voter-persuasion videos that we’ve ever tested. In fact, some of our latest videos have been moving people by as much as 14 to 18 points, including in key battleground states.
Now we need to get these videos and other content in front of as many people as possible. So I'm asking you today: Will you donate to help educate the public and support our efforts to stop Donald Trump?
It’s outrageous that Facebook allows deceptive campaigns like these to run at all, and there’s no reason to think Progress 2028 will stop now.
This is on top of the fact that Elon Musk has turned Twitter (now called X) into a free-flowing open sewer of right-wing conspiracy theories.
Since we can’t count on the owners of these big social media platforms to crack down on disinformation, we have to fight back by pushing out our own proven-effective videos and posts on as many platforms as possible to counter the pro-Trump lies.
Inequality Media Civic Action has spent years building up a massive following across social media and figuring out how to craft persuasive posts and videos to reach a full range of audiences, including the key swing voters we need to contact in these final days before the election.
One of our most recent videos on the “10 Worst Things About The Trump Presidency” has over 3.1 million views on YouTube alone. Another video, explaining why it is 100% accurate to describe Donald Trump as a fascist, is up to 1.8 million views.
And we’re not just preaching to the choir. We have an unusually large percentage of conservatives and independents among our followers, and after watching our videos on key economic issues like inflation and corporate greed, people moved in our direction by startling numbers:
-
Former Biden supporters in Wisconsin moved our way by 19 points.
-
“Right-leaning” voters in Pennsylvania moved our way by 17 points.
-
Trump voters under the age of 25 moved in our direction by 16 points.
-
“Right-leaning” voters in Arizona moved 12.5 points.
Now we need to get these videos and our other content in front of as many eyeballs as possible between now and Election Day — and your donations are absolutely critical to our success.
Will you chip in to help educate the public, get our videos in front of as many people as possible, and stop Donald Trump?
