In addition to fast-tracking dangerous fossil fuel projects, Manchin’s bill would limit the ability of federal agencies to review major energy projects, limit the information that is available about these projects to the public, and reduce opportunities for people like you and me to have input.* This comes straight from Big Oil’s wish list. We know that because they’ve been lobbying specifically to pass this bill: the American Petroleum Institute spent $1.5 million on lobbying just in the last three months, and listed Manchin’s bill as one of their top priorities. We need Congress to stand up to Big Oil and oppose Manchin’s dirty deal! Manchin has been trying to pass this bad bill since 2022. We stopped most of his terrible proposals back then, thanks to a huge outcry from people like you and our grassroots partners across the country. But Manchin and his Big Oil billionaire friends are still trying to push through their polluting agenda.
