In 2008, CPT Brown was serving in Afghanistan when he and his platoon were
ambushed by the Taliban.

They'd set out a roadside bomb and his Humvee rolled over it.



The bomb exploded underneath the fuel tank of his vehicle-leaving Sam drenched
in diesel fuel and covered in flames.

Most people would call this the end of their life as they know it...



But CPT Brown sees it differently. He saw it as a new beginning.

explosion-Sam was saved. He calls it the moment that he surrendered his life

he would've died.
