Find out what Congressman Ken Calvert is working on for Riverside County and the people of the 41st Congressional District

HIGHER GAS PRICES

Just days after the upcoming election, a California regulatory agency is set to approve new rules that could raise gasoline prices as much as 47 cents a gallon next year. We already pay the highest gas prices in the country, I believe it's outrageous that radical California Democrats keep making it worse. I joined my House Republican colleagues from California in calling on the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to postpone a November 8 vote to raise gas price by 47 cents per gallon in 2025 via new fuel standards. We also urged the agency to immediately analyze the cost to consumers before imposing massive new costs on California drivers.

STOPPING A TAX INCREASE

Californians are facing a major tax increase unless Congress takes action next year. That's the last thing families need as they struggle to pay for higher costs throughout the economy. I will work to keep taxes low for Riverside County residents.

Here’s a snapshot of the devastating impacts right here in the 41st Congressional District if Congress fails to act:

MENIFEE STATE OF THE CITY

Congressman Ken Calvert and Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman

On Thursday night, I was honored to attend the Menifee State of the City Address and Taste of Menifee at Mt. San Jacinto College. I have enjoyed partnering with Menifee city leaders to find ways to bring federal resources to solve problems. Working together with Menifee officials, my office has been able to identify projects that are eligible for federal Community Project Funding.

These projects include:

  • The construction of a new bridge where Bradley Road crosses the Salt Creek;
  • The Scott Road/Bundy Canyon Road widening project;
  • Converting homes from septic to sewer in Quail Valley; and
  • The proposed Garbani Road Interchange Project on the 215.

After these projects were identified, I went to work in Washington to fight for Menifee. Thanks to our joint efforts, in just the past few years we’ve been able to secure more than $16 million in federal funding for projects here in Menifee. Throughout this process, it’s been a pleasure to work and collaborate with Mayor Bill Zimmerman, who is a tremendous advocate and champion for the city of Menifee.

HOUSING SOLUTIONS FOR VETERANS

I enjoyed providing a Congressional update at an event in Norco hosted this week by the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals. I share their commitment to finding housing solutions to those who served in our military.
