With just SIX days until our October deadline, I wanted to take a break from canvassing to relay what’s at stake. I’ve been traveling across MI-01, listening to your stories, and working to bring the issues that matter most to the forefront.

One of the top issues I get asked about is Social Security and Medicare. We have one of the largest populations of seniors in the country right here in MI-01. My grandma is one of them. She’s not afraid to use a chainsaw. She got pecked by a rooster and took care of it with her bare hands, saying, "Looks like dinner." And on her 60th birthday, she singlehandedly shingled the roof on the hunting camp cabin.

I believe honoring our seniors means protecting the programs that allow them to retire with dignity. That’s why I’m fighting to protect Social Security and Medicare from being gutted by politicians like Jack Bergman. Our seniors deserve better than broken promises.
