Email from Rep. McCaul Texas Leading the Way to Boost Domestic Semiconductor Manufacturing Thanks to the CHIPS for America Act, which I authored with Senator John Cornyn, Texas is leading the charge in boosting domestic manufacturing of semiconductor chips, which power everything from your toaster and cellphone to even our most advanced weapons systems. This week, Senator Cornyn and I participated in a fireside chat at Texas A&M’s Semiconductor Summit to discuss how our bill is bolstering U.S. national security and Texas’ economy. Before the bill’s passage, 90% of the world’s most advanced semiconductors were produced in Taiwan, an island under the Chinese Communist Party's military intimidation and coercion, and the U.S. produced none. But thanks to the CHIPS Act, America is set to produce nearly 30% of these chips, which are critical to national security programs in the next few years. Texas A&M and the University of Texas are playing critical roles in the semiconductor production, from research and design to manufacturing and packaging. With their help, we are decreasing our reliance on vulnerable foreign supply chains and creating a thriving semiconductor ecosystem in Central Texas. So far, companies like Samsung, Globalwafers, and Texas Instruments have already planned to invest $100 billion in our state alone! I look forward to continued investment in the industry, bringing more high-paying jobs and opportunities to Texas. The Lone Star State will always remain a cornerstone of the future of the global semiconductor landscape. McCaul and Senator John Cornyn speak at Texas Semiconductor Summit Demanding Answers for US Postmaster General About Serious Postal Delays Too many people in the Brazos Valley have been experiencing serious and concerning postal delays. Constituents have reported stories of bills, documents, and medication being delayed or lost in transit. These persistent issues are unacceptable — especially for seniors, small businesses, and others who depend on USPS for their livelihoods. I sent a letter to USPS Postmaster General Louis DeJoy demanding answers about these issues and how USPS is working to fix them. These conditions are unacceptable, and as your representative, it is my duty to conduct oversight and seek accountability for the postal service’s failures. If these issues are not resolved, I will work alongside my Republican and Democrat colleagues to enact legislative solutions. If you need assistance from my office, please click here. Supporting Texas’ Farmers and Ranchers This week, I had the privilege of attending Texas’ Capital Farm Credit’s Headquarters Opening Ceremony in College Station. Texas is home to the largest number of farms and ranches in the country, and for 100 years Capital Farm Credit has provided financial services to our agriculture communities every day. I am thankful for the hard work, dedication, and grit of Texas’ farmers and ranchers who feed and fuel our nation! McCaul at the opening ceremony for the Texas' Capital Farm Credit Headquarters Honoring Texas A&M University's President Mark Welsh Today, I was honored to introduce a resolution and present it to President Welsh at his investiture ceremony for his dedication and commitment to the United States, Texas, and Texas A&M University. Throughout his life, President Welsh has exemplified Texas A&M’s core values of excellence, loyalty, and selfless service to both our community and our country. I can think of no one better suited to take on this role, and I have no doubt his leadership will benefit future generations of Aggies! McCaul presenting a Congressional resolution to President Welsh Over 2.1 Million Illegal Immigrants Encountered in Fiscal Year 2024 under the Biden-Harris Admin Under President Biden and Vice President Harris, America’s borders are wide open, enabling terrorists, violent criminals, and drug traffickers to walk right into our country. Their disastrous open-border policies enabled over 2.1 million illegal immigrations to enter our country in fiscal year 2024. This staggering number is only surpassed by the two previous years of the Biden-Harris administration. The numbers don’t lie. When I chaired the Homeland Security Committee under the Trump administration, we could never have imagined record-high numbers like this. Texans bear the brunt of this crisis, and they will not be fooled by the Biden-Harris administration’s attempts to cover it up. ICYMI: Rep.
