I'm not the type of person to leave things up to chance.

As a meteorologist, I had a responsibility to give folks the information they needed to prepare for the day and week ahead. Quite honestly, the race for IL-17 is where our democracy hangs. My opponent has made it clear he’d continue the assault on reproductive rights. And given his financial support, there’s no doubt he’ll be a yes vote for Mike Johnson and the rest of the far-right in continuing the destruction of our democratic norms – especially if you-know-who wins at the top of the ticket.
