Great news out of Georgia, John: After the MAGA-run Georgia State Election Board passed a bunch of last-minute rules -- like requiring ballots to be hand-counted -- over the objections of Georgia elected officials, even including Republican state AG Chris Car and Republican Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Georgia judge has declared that seven new election rules recently passed by the Board are "illegal, unconstitutional and void."
This ruling is huge, and goes a long way to restoring faith in our elections, not just in Georgia, but across the country. This ruling sends a message to opponents of voting rights everywhere that we won't let them change the rules and tilt the playing field in their direction. We won't let them use their partisan conspiracy theories to silence our voices. It shows them that we're going to fight to make every last vote count.
Now what do we do? if you live in Georgia, we still urge you to vote early or by mail ahead of Election Day to make sure your ballot gets counted or you have time to "cure" (fix) your mail-in ballot if you missed a required field, like a date or a hidden signature field. If you don't live in Georgia but have friends or family who do, encourage them to vote early however they can. And everyone everywhere can support our work in Georgia and beyond to protect our elections and our right to vote.
Voters deserve better than these transparent attempts to harm our elections and predetermine the outcome, John. Help us restore faith in our elections and defend voting rights by kicking in $25 or whatever you can right now to fight back against election deniers everywhere >>
