Hosting My Annual Mayor’s Luncheon
Recently, I hosted my annual CD5 Mayors’ Luncheon at Westwood Hills Nature Center in St. Louis Park. We had representation from all 14 cities in our district. St. Louis Park Mayor Nadia Mohamed, Golden Valley Mayor Roslyn Harmon, and St. Anthony Village Mayor Wendy Webster were newly elected this year and attended the luncheon for the first time. I also had the chance to recognize and honor the service of three mayors who are retiring this year: Crystal Mayor Jim Adams, New Hope Mayor Kathi Hemken, and Robbinsdale Mayor Bill Blonigan. The group appreciates the chance to get together and provide updates about what is happening in each of their cities.

Celebrating Latine Heritage Month 
Feliz Mes de la Herencia Latina! I was thrilled to celebrate Latine Heritage Month by hosting an event with some of my district’s Latine leaders. I was joined by community leaders doing amazing work with and for our Latine community members, as well as some Latine MN05 elected leaders as special guests – MN Senator Alice Mann, Minneapolis Councilmember Jason Chavez, Richfield Councilmember Simon Trautmann, and Minneapolis School Board Member Adriana Cerrillo.

 Medicare is now stronger than ever, with historic cost savings for seniors thanks to recent reforms. Here's what you need to know:

Apply for a US Service Academy Nomination
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five US Service Academies: US Military Academy, US Naval Academy, US Air Force Academy, and the US Merchant Marine Academy.
The deadline to apply for a service academy nomination through Rep. Omar's Office is Friday, November 15th at 5:00pm CT.
