Hi John,
You’ve been leading the charge against the carbon tax so I wanted to give you an update from Ottawa.
Pressure from you and thousands of other taxpayers have clearly rocked the government caucus. Revolts are unpredictable. But this is clear: MPs know they have a big problem and the carbon tax is a big part of it.
The news is reporting that about two-dozen government MPs are pushing the prime minister to resign. These MPs are worried they are losing support because of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s carbon tax. Some government MPs are even musing about voting against the government.
“If the Prime Minister doesn’t respond in some way … what happens when the next confidence vote comes before the House of Commons?” Liberal MP Ken McDonald said. “Are we going to stand and vote with non-confidence, or are we going to stand and vote with the government?”
That’s an astonishing question coming from a government MP.
MPs know either the carbon tax goes, or they do. And that’s because you’re taking action.
Trudeau’s carbon tax is on the ropes. There’s more fight to fight. But you’re landing heavy blows.
Trudeau is getting so desperate he’s spending $7 million (of your tax dollars) on ads to spin Canadians about the carbon tax.
Here’s the good news: Hundreds of taxpayers have chipped in with donations for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation to run an ad campaign that will get millions of impressions (and it’ll cost a lot less money).
Here’s how you can push back against Trudeau’s spin: You can watch and share our first anti-carbon tax ad. I know it sounds like a small thing. But the more you watch and share the video, the more it’ll go viral.
You can watch and share the anti-carbon tax video by clicking this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37zrEIUzAW0
We will keep you updated on the carbon tax fight. Your pressure is already working. Let’s keep fighting until the carbon tax is completely gone from Canada.
Thank you for fighting for taxpayers – you’re making a difference!
All the best,
Franco Terrazzano
Federal Director
Canadian Taxpayers Federation
P.S.: If you liked that video, check out the video CTF’s Alberta Director Kris Sims made outside a Liberal MP’s office. (Spoiler alert: it involves someone in a chicken suit). You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJtSgUZn5JM
