Eric
Police Department Recognition
Mendota Heights Police Investigator Eric Hagelee recently received a certificate of recognition from ALTO, a nationwide alliance working to protect retailers from crime and increase safety for all. The ALTO representatives thanked Investigator Hagelee with a certificate for his tireless work and collaboration with their organization, retail partners and law enforcement partners to get perpetrators of organized retail theft prosecuted.
Last fall, one of our local businesses became the victim of repeated and targeted thefts. Through investigative tools and partnerships with many metro cities and counties, it was quickly learned this was the work of an organized retail crime group. These individuals weren’t simply intent on stealing but also were known to verbally and physically threaten and assault both customers and staff and leave property damage in their wake. Investigator Hagelee worked with investigators from other metro cities to not only identify the perpetrators but ultimately connected them with 95 other thefts metro-wide totaling over $100,000 in losses.
Congratulations, Eric! We're proud of your perseverance in the pursuit of accountability for these victims.

Street Sweeper
Fall Street Sweeping
To prevent sediment from entering the City’s storm drains, street sweeping is conducted in the spring and fall. This year, fall street sweeping begins on Monday, Nov. 4 and should wrap up by the end of the week. You can help by moving vehicles from the street and keeping trash cans behind the curb line. Remember, it is illegal to place yard waste and debris onto City streets.
