My name is Sandi Ault, if you don't know me, I am a grassroots Democratic activist based in Roxborough, Colorado.

My county, Douglas County, is on the frontlines of the battle to unseat Lauren Boebert and is among the most competitive counties in the entire state. Because of this, my neighbors and I are intensely involved in organizing within our region. We have been recognized as Volunteers of the Year by the Colorado Democratic Party and by Douglas County Dems.

This year, we took our organizing to the next level by founding an all-volunteer-run PAC, called Our Democracy PAC. The Colorado Turnout Project saw the work we were doing to unseat Boebert and supported our organization with a maximum contribution earlier this month.

As you may have seen, the magazine, The Economist, is predicting a Boebert victory in November.

One thing that the Economist’s predictive analysis did not take into account is the effect that down ballot races across the district could have on the race. Surprisingly, the race for Douglas County Commissioner stands to undermine the Economist’s entire analysis and will make or break any hope of a Democratic victory against Boebert.

Douglas County has the majority of the population in Lauren Boebert’s district, and carrying this county is essential for Boebert’s democratic opponent. Democratic County Commissioner candidate Angela Thomas stands a real chance of winning, and she is polling within A POINT of her Republican opponent.

If we can take Douglas County, we can defeat Boebert. Angela Thomas’s victory is essential to Democrats winning Douglas County.
