Hello, John.
Last
week, our president Chuck Marohn shared nine things city leaders must do right
now in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Today, he's talking
medium-term strategies with Ten Tasks for Cities Responding to the
Pandemic. We should not expect a restoration of how things were before COVID-19 spread to North America. Instead, we should lead each other to a new set of priorities and a new way of living—one that measures success in resilience instead of by the number of transactions that take place in a given space and timeframe.
This transition might be painful, and it's OK to acknowledge that sense of loss. But it is also an opportunity to rebuild our cities into places where people can thrive. We cannot let it pass us by.
We wish you strength and inspiration heading into this week.
