*MEDIA ADVISORY:  Governor Mark Gordon to Keynote 87th Annual Meeting of the Wyoming Taxpayers’ Association in Cheyenne*

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon will be the keynote speaker at the 87th Annual Wyoming Taxpayers’ Association (WTA) luncheon Oct. 30 at 12 noon. The Governor will deliver his address, entitled *"The Cowboy State Economy: Infrastructure and the Budget"*, to the association at Little America in Cheyenne.

WTA membership supported Governor Gordon’s targeted and measured tax relief signed into law last year because it had the desired effect of easing the burden on Wyomingites while still providing funding for necessary services.

“It is always uplifting to gather with the membership of WTA … it’s a homecoming with reasonable, smart, caring Wyoming citizens who consistently advocate for what is right for Wyoming,” Governor Gordon said.* *“The association is supportive of balanced tax policy to support our communities, strong K-12 education, first responders, roads, fire, and safety while also announcing ‘Wyoming is open for business’.”

During the annual meeting the WTA will review findings of *"The Cowboy Family Report"* [ [link removed] ], which contains detailed analyses of what the typical Wyoming family paid in state and local taxes vs. state and local public services received (2023-24). According to data gathered by WTA from the US Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Tax Foundation, and numerous Wyoming state entities, the average family of four in Wyoming pays $4,429.08 in taxes and receives $61,263.44 in state and local services [link removed]
