So are many Connecticut residents we speak with, including one in my district, Scott Pearson of Monroe stood up for Freedom and we support him.
He organized a campaign on change.org to amass 68,000 signatures to cease the public benefits changes on the electric bill. My son Jonathan spent time with Scott discussing this issue and we have been early fighters of this public benefits since July before it became an issue. You can still sign the petition HERE [ [link removed] ]as the Public Benefits is not going away without a change at the ballot box.
There is Scott taking it to the State House and sticking it to Lamont and the rest of the legislature responsible for another Bad Bill. (Aaron Flaum/ Hartford Courant [ [link removed] ])
If you want to see what your bill breaks down look below - The portion in Red is what you get to pay to benefit the Public that does not benefit You!
It is disgusting that We the People as electric customers get to play the role of the government to Subsidize Government Programs without the tax deduction and without any say in the matter.
This Public Benefit is the new oppressive program and here is what you are paying for:
People who can’t pay their electric bills
Solar panel installation on your neighbor’s houses
Energy saving upgrades to your neighbor’s houses; and
Other ridiculous programs
This is NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. That is the Role of Government.
YOU ARE A CONSUMER - YOU ARE PAYING FOR THE ENERGY USE, NOT FOR SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMS FOR ALL.
This Election is not about Armchair Activism - it is about getting up out of your seat and doing something. Scott hats off to you and your efforts - We need your help getting this message out and Scott’s Message Out so please donate, and volunteer and spread the word. We cannot do this without YOU THE PEOPLE.
I have been speaking out and fighting and I will fight for your rights.
I will fight to make sure that Rip-offs like this Do not continue.
I will also fight to bring more natural gas to CT and mini-nuclear to make your electricity affordable again and ensure we have enough electricity to grow our Connecticut economy and attract new businesses and manufacturing jobs in Constitution State.
