For Release: Congressman Wesley Hunt Issues Statement Condemning VP Harris's Campaign Stop in Houston, TX Today

Houston, TX - Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting Houston, Texas today to campaign for late-term and post-birth abortion alongside Congressman Colin Allred. She should, however, be coming to Texas to address the crisis at our southern border. In the 3.5 years she's been Vice President, Kamala Harris has let in over 15 million illegal immigrants, including over 13,000 murderers and rapists that have wreaked havoc on our Texas communities.

"Kamala Harris is coming to Houston this Friday to hold a rally for her failing, anti-American presidential campaign. As a proud Houston native, I speak for many friends and neighbors when I say: she’s not welcome.

"As Border Czar, a job the very president tasked with her she’s now replacing in this campaign, Harris allowed millions of illegal aliens—including human traffickers, gang members, murderers, and rapists—into our country. This failure has directly endangered Houstonians, leaving us vulnerable to violent criminals.

"Her negligence as Border Czar contributed to the tragic deaths of Americans, including Jocelyn Nungaray, who was killed by two illegal aliens from Venezuela. Young women like Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin would be alive today if Kamala Harris had taken her responsibilities seriously.

"Kamala Harris’ leadership has brought death and destruction to our communities. This upcoming holiday season, countless American families will mourn an empty chair at their tables because she allowed violence to spread across our nation.

"Texans, Houstonians, and Americans will never forgive or forget Harris’ cowardice. If she were serious about securing the border, she’d urge the president she replaced to pressure Chuck Schumer to take up the Secure the Border Act, passed by House Republicans nearly two years ago.

She’s in office now.

She can act today.

But will she?

Of course, she won’t.

"In less than two weeks, the American people will choose real change in this election by making Donald J. Trump the 47th President of the United States. Watch how quickly the problems in this country Harris can’t solve are solved by President Trump."
