Your donations help UNHCR save lives in Lebanon

Dear John,

It’s been a month since families in Lebanon woke up to the most violent attacks the country has seen in decades.

More than 1.2 million people have fled their homes. Over 1.2 million people whose lives have been suddenly uprooted. More than quarter of the country is now under Israeli military evacuation orders. Fewer and fewer places in Lebanon are safe, and people do not know where the next strike will hit.

With each passing day, more people are killed and injured, and more people are forced to flee their homes. People need to be protected. They need shelter, life-saving medical and psychological support– but we cannot deliver this assistance without you.

Each day, families in Lebanon are being displaced from one village, one city to another. Syrian refugees in Lebanon had also been forced to flee their homes. Some escaped the bombings in Lebanon and crossed back to Syria which has grappled with its own conflict and humanitarian crisis for more than a decade.

 UNHCR efforts in Lebanon

Thanks to all of our kind donors, UNHCR and partners are upgrading shelters, providing emergency medical and psychosocial support and providing vulnerable families with desperately needed relief items.

In Lebanon, your donations have helped:

➔ Cover treatment for 125,000 war-wounded refugees

➔ Deliver 154,000 core relief items

➔ Provide 272,000 people with cash assistance

In Syria, together we are providing support to new arrivals at the Syrian crossing points and onwards, including transporting vulnerable people to their destinations, delivering core relief items and supporting people with legal assistance.

But with a cold winter approaching, families need support now, so that they can be sheltered and warm in the months ahead.

Please donate now to provide relief to people torn from their homes.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Monia Hassan
