Friend, can I be totally honest here?
I wish I didn’t have to do this. If I could win this race without sending you another email, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
I wish I didn’t have to write to you after a long day and ask you to chip in because we’re behind on a goal, or because our race is tightening, or because Trump tore into me at another one of his rallies.
But that’s what happened today. Trump came back to Arizona, had a rally in Tempe, and attacked me again. He’s doing it because he knows he has to defeat me, has to tear me down, if he’s going to have a shot at winning in Arizona.
This campaign isn’t funded by a few millionaires and billionaires writing huge checks. The only way we can fight back at Trump when he does stuff like this is through supporters like you, chipping in what you can, when you can.
So, I’ve got to write to you. I’ve got to ask you. Because when a ton of folks come together and chip in at the same time, we can raise a ton of resources, really fast.
And at a moment like this, with Trump coming for us and time running out, that’s exactly what I need.
So — can I count on you to make your first donation to my campaign? I won’t waste it. We’ll put it directly to work winning this race. You have my word.
