It should be the lowest bar in American politics: condemn anyone who praises Adolf Hitler.
But failed, far-right Congressman Nick LaLota couldn’t bring himself to do even that.
He’s too much of a follower to even take that minor risk of offending his political boss. So in last night’s News 12 debate blowout - Lalota refused to criticize Trump’s infatuation with Adolf Hitler.
You’ve probably seen that Trump’s longest serving Chief of Staff, Four Star Marine General John Kelly, went on the record to confirm that Trump repeatedly praised Hitler in his presence - and even said that he wanted to have the kind of Nazi Generals that Hitler had.
Nick LaLota’s reaction should be pretty straightforward, right? “Hitler was evil and this rhetoric has no place in our politics.”
But no, that’s of course not what he said. He deflected, attacked, and tried to turn it around. He couldn’t bring himself to criticize Donald Trump.
