Hey John, it's Team 350 Action!
With just 12 days left until Election Day, we wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes look at some of our efforts to elect climate champion VP Kamala Harris to the presidency this November.
The polls are tight, and this election will come down to voter turnout. So we’re hitting the ground hard by deploying in must-win swing states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia to knock on doors, pick up the phones, and turn out climate voters now and through November 5th.
Here’s a quick look at what a few of us have been up to:
In rural Georgia, Candice Fortin, our 350 Action Campaigns Manager, teamed up with Climate Power and Working Families Power Georgia to host a hip-hop brunch textathon last week. Within 45 minutes, they texted more than 45,000 Black voters in must-win Muscogee County, which is half of all Black voters in the county!
Then she went to Arizona, where Candice hosted a panel with Third Act’s Bill McKibben and Rebecca Solnit to connect with local voters and discuss Arizona’s role in tackling climate change. And from today through Election Day, she’s partnering with Seed The Vote to lead canvassers out into Arizona communities to knock on doors and turn out climate voters.
Over in Wisconsin, Yani Rosario, one of our Senior Organizers, is rallying young voters in Racine and Milwaukee by hitting the streets with Leaders Igniting Transformation.
And in Pennsylvania, Jeff Ordower, our North America Director, and Nico Udu-gama, our Partnerships Coordinator, are partnering with UNITE HERE! Action, while Lila Kohrman-Glaser, our Networks Manager, and Senior Organizer Taylor Smith-Hams are working with Seed The Vote. All four are leading canvassing teams into neighborhoods to knock on doors, turn out voters, and build momentum ahead of election day.
John, we’re running an all-hands-on-deck operation to ensure we elect a true climate champion to office come November. We couldn’t do any of this without your support, and for that, we’re truly grateful.
Thank you for standing with us.
In solidarity,
Team 350 Action
