I joined the Mayor and my colleagues in presenting world-renowned athlete, Alex Morgan, with a Key to the City. Alex Morgan's remarkable soccer career and her ability to inspire generations of players, fans, and teammates globally, nationally, and locally here in San Diego is unparalleled. Her efforts to uplift, advocate, and champion pay equity in women's sports have profoundly transformed the game and shifted perspectives for the better. Presenting Ms. Morgan with a Key to the City of San Diego reflects the deep pride and gratitude shared by San Diegans and City Hall for her extraordinary impact. We look forward to all that she will continue to achieve in her retirement.

You can track initiatives like urban tree canopy expansion, Pure Water SD, and renewable energy projects. We are working everyday towards a more resilient and sustainable future.

I was honored to participate in celebrating the 75th anniversary of the San Diego Bird Alliance and to recognize their education and environmental stewardship in the D1 community and citywide. The Bird Alliance has coalesced students, communities, advocates, and local tribes on native bird habitat education, protection, and restoration.

The City is making it easier than ever for residents to get a passport. Head to the Pacific Beach/Taylor Library for a pop-up passport event on Friday, November 15, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 🧳🛂✈️ 

Climate solutions often start locally and inspire globally. I recently joined San Diego Climate Action Campaign for their NEXUS Climate Summit. We discussed how San Diego’s prioritization of innovation, resiliency, and equity has led to a sustainable future at home and a model for other cities to emulate.
