Curtin and Chifley once spoke of victory in war, victory in peace.

The vision to imagine greater opportunity for all in peace. The courage to begin that work even in the midst of war.

Today I delivered my fifth vision statement on Australia beyond the coronavirus – and it’s the same vision and courage of these two Labor legends that’s required of us now.

To not simply “snap back” to insecure work, to jobseekers in poverty and to science being ignored.

To build an economy that works for people, not the other way around.

And to live up to Australia’s promise of a fair go and make it real for all our people.

That’s the country we’re fighting for – but we need your help to get there.
