CHBA BC members, there are less than two weeks left to enter your projects for the 2025 Georgie Awards. Projects and products built, renovated, developed, created and/or marketed from January 1, 2023, to October 31, 2024, are eligible.

Submitting your entry is easy! Start by visiting the Georgie Awards website. You'll find a link to the online entry portal, the Call for Entries and additional information on the submission process, categories, and deadlines.

Don't miss your chance to be recognized alongside the best in B.C.'s homebuilding industry!

The Submission Deadline is 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The CHBA BC Building Science for New Homes textbook is out!

The new 331-page manual provides practical information for builders on industry-recognized building science fundamentals and best practices. The builder-focused text explains the impact of building enclosure design, mechanical and ventilation system selection, and construction methods on the energy efficiency and durability of new homes constructed in British Columbia.

This textbook is currently used as part of CHBA BC's curriculum for builder licensing courses and is now available for purchase as a standalone reference guide.

Net Zero Renovator Training this November

Attention renovators, are you interested in offering your clients the opportunity to renovate their homes to "the ultimate in comfort and efficiency?"

CHBA BC's Net Zero Renovator Training is coming up on November 7 & 8, 2024.

This training will be delivered via webinar where participants will learn the latest developments on approaches to Net Zero/Ready renovations.

The course will cover Net Zero/Ready design principles, equipment options, emerging technologies, and construction practices and learn to identify the performance gap between "existing" homes and new net zero homes.
