Hi John,

I’m Kelley, a mom, author, advocate, and full-time caregiver, and I want to share my story with you.

As a mother of two children, one who has multiple disabilities and medical complexities, I understand firsthand the urgent need for change in our care system. My son requires specialized care for the rest of his life, which has led me to make tough choices, stepping back from my career and social life to ensure he receives the support he needs.

No family should have to choose between financial stability and caring for their loved ones. We need a care system that supports everyone.

As we approach Election Day , sharing your story with your elected officials is a powerful way to move care policies forward. In fact, elected officials are more moved by people’s stories than they even are by statistics or facts. Help us uplift the importance of care by taking just three minutes to record a video and share your story, like I did.

Navigating care challenges can be overwhelming. Many of us are thrust into roles without any training or compensation, and the support we receive can vary drastically from state to state. But sharing our stories can help us feel less alone.

I want to hear from you. Tell us about how you’re connected to care. Have you given care — to a parent, child, family member, loved one? Received it? The more personal and specific your story, the more effective it’ll be.

Your voice matters, and together, we can push for the changes we desperately need. Thank you for joining me in this important fight.

With care,

Kelley Coleman
