Palestine Convention 2024 Offers A New Program Focusing on Education and Action Dear Email, This year’s AMP Convention is unique. For the first time, we will be holding the 1st Palestine Retreat: titled “Education To Action,” a NEW one-day pre-convention event on Thursday, November 28th, at the Tinley Park Convention Center near Chicago, IL. As we’re witnessing the first live-streamed genocide in the history of the world, it is incumbent upon us as a community to ingratiate ourselves with the prerequisite knowledge of Palestinian history and use it to further our activism and enhance our collective involvement.  The purpose of the Palestine Retreat is to deconstruct U.S. political and media discourse around Gaza and the Palestinian experience. We will have 2 sessions geared toward analyzing the Palestinian relationship with Zionism, and properly framing Gaza within the broader context of Israel’s settler-colonial occupation and apartheid regime. The program will then shift to discussing the importance and impact of advocacy. We will discuss the shifting dynamics in the U.S., especially in the realm of public opinion. Moreover, strong emphasis will be placed on various modes of advocacy, and the ways in which we can engage the plethora of elements that make up our wide and diverse community, from direct action, BDS, protests, utilizing our religious institutions, etc.  You do not want to miss this new addition to our annual convention. This is the most opportune time to enhance our educational and advocacy tools for substantive change. The tide is already shifting, and the American people are awakening in their assessment of the political reality on the ground.
