For centuries, chimpanzees have been captured and removed from their natural habitats and exploited by humans for profit. In their former lives as research subjects, pets, and entertainers, most of the residents at Save the Chimps previously lived in harsh and inhumane conditions—many were kept in small spaces with no grass, no sunshine, no trees, and no companionship.

Fortunately, your generosity has made a huge difference in the lives of formerly abused chimpanzees, and we cannot thank you enough. But many more chimps still need to reach the safety of sanctuary.
