Dear John,

At his rally in Colorado earlier this month, Trump announced plans to deport all undocumented immigrants, starting in Aurora if elected—calling it “Operation Aurora.” His mass deportation plan would tear families apart, devastating millions, including 8.5 million U.S. citizens in mixed-status households.

In addition to endorsing candidates [[link removed]] who stand with our values, CIRC Action Fund with immigrant and civil rights groups along with Aurora residents responded to Trump’s rally, coming together to host a community cookout that showcased the real Aurora— a city where families put down roots, immigrants build vibrant communities, and neighbors look out for one another. We sent a clear message: Hate is not welcome here. Coloradans will stand up for shared values of building a state where everyone can thrive, regardless of the color of their skin, how much money they make, or where they were born.

This hateful rhetoric isn’t just distracting, it's scapegoating and dangerous . Trump blames immigrants to score political points and avoid addressing real issues, like stagnant wages, lack of affordable housing, and Aurora’s corrupt slumlords. CBZ Management, for example, has a shameful record of mismanaging properties and exploiting tenants.

Trump’s “Operation Aurora” is bad for Colorado. If Trump’s mass deportation plan were carried out, industries critical to Colorado—like construction, agriculture, and hospitality—would lose over 2.5 million workers, driving up costs and slowing the housing market. Experts warn this could lead to an economic crisis on par with the Great Recession [[link removed]].

At CIRC Action Fund, we have endorsed candidates who have demonstrated the courage to stand up against divisive rhetoric and harmful policies threatening our communities. By endorsing candidates [[link removed]] who prioritize fair and humane solutions over fear-mongering, we are building the foundation for lasting change that protects all Coloradans.

We invite you to read more about these candidates and also check out the Racial Justice Ballot Guide [[link removed]] to understand how ballot initiatives will impact all Coloradans and their ability to thrive.

We hope you join us in fighting for candidates and measures that uplift our communities.
